Ageism refers to how we think, feel and act towards people based on their age. It finds its way into our institutions, relationships and self image.
Courage is a social campaign dedicated to spreading age positivity and empowering people to courageously own their age!
Part of our job is to educate society about aging and the impact ageism has on ourselves and others. Understanding that aging is a natural and valuable part of life will allow everyone to move forward with a better sense of empathy and awareness. You can get involved by posting your stories to social media using #agepositivity and help us build a community devoted to combating ageism. Also be sure to take the pledge. It’s time to value people of all ages and it all starts with a little bit of courage!

Yes! Ageism lives in many of our institutions. It influences our health and social care, the media, the workplace and the legal system. Globally, one in two people are ageist against older people! Populations are living longer so if you want to ensure your quality of life, stand up to ageism.
To combat ageism, we need to make a collective effort. It doesn’t matter what age you are now, ageism will impact you. The pledge allows you to take on ageism for yourself and others.
